Tegile snapshots allow for the creation of unlimited SQL Server consistent snapshots, which can be used to instantly revert to previous version of working database. Tegile Snaps do not consume more space, meaning no copies of existing data are made. Tegile Clones allow for creation of completely new Read – Write SQL Databases from “Original”, again without making any physical copies of existing data. Only new writes consume new storage space. This functionality allows DBA and Storage admins to collapse many copies of the same database onto single storage platform and into single “copy”.
